Course Description: U.S. History Part 2 for High School: Beginning in 1865, the class will cover the time period of industrial development to the present. Students will learn American History from a conservative, Christian point of view. Students will gain an understanding of how God’s perfect timing led us from Civil War recovery, through industrial development, through World Wars and to the present. American history is not perfect nor without mistakes, but students will see how we can learn from mistakes and use God’s guidance to prevent future mistakes. We will use maps to help create a deeper understanding of where certain events occurred. Extra research will be used at times to develop skills needed for higher level learning and critical thinking. The overall goal is for the students to learn a patriotic and positive overview of our early history while developing an understanding of God’s providence through it all.
